My new challenge this year has been the new SmartBoard software. While I've had a SmartBoard for three years, the new version 10 of the software has more changes and requires significant time to learn. I like what I see. I'm excited to learn them and use all the new features. But it is taking time and the learning curve is steep. We've had an ongoing staff development course devoted to the new SmartBoard. That's been a big help in learning. It is also good that I can use the time in class to do some colaberating with the classroom teachers. I look forward to revamping my existing lessons to use the features in the new software.

I am currently learning about technology. I am learning more about the SMART Board every day from colleagues and students. I am learning about how to teach about different aspects of technology to my colleagues. I am anxious to learn more about video editing, audio editing and integrating audio into movies. I am also interested in learning about anything that I can incorporate into my Spanish career. Anything that will make the students more interested in learning a foreign language.

I am currently focusing on incorporating Web 2.0 tools into the K - 12 environment. I'm up to my neck in my master's thesis, so all of my reading has been to support this topic. I can't wait to submit it in December. My thesis is "Cloud computing will benefit K-12 schools." You all got a sampling of the ideas in my paper in the hot topic that I presented.

In the future I hope to create online classes. I designed an online class called "Blogging 101" that I will be teaching next semester in the continuing education of Suffolk Community College. This type of course delivery and development is what I am interested in.

I've finally decided what I want to be when I grow up... and online instructor. I'm learning all I can to move my classroom knowledge to that platform.

I would love to learn about SmartBoard. Everytime I sign up for free training by my school district, it is canceled due to low turnout (usually over the summer). When I log on to Mestract's website their SmartBoard classes are always maxed out.

I am learning about the i-safe project right now and I am going to use what I learned to teach the students how to be safe on the the internet. In the future I am anxious to learn more about different websites that can be used to create lessons.

I just got a Smartboard and am enjoying learning and creating lessons for my students. I took a beginning class this summer, am taking an inservice course at school now, and have signed up for another Mestract class on the Smartboard in January . The children and I are enjoying the new experience with the Smartboard.

This is an exciting time in terms of learning for me. I have been using the SmartBoard for several years now, and feel that I am finally learning how to organize all my lessons in a more efficient way. Since I have recently upgraded to version 10, I am now figuring out it's new features.
I am also learning how to integrate technology into the students activities...trying to make sure that technology is viewed as a tool, not an event. The more I learn about technology, the more there is to learn. So the good news is...learning never ends.

I'm learning about learning. How the mind absorbs information, how people learn in teams and communities, etc.

I am particularly interested in distance learning, and would like to understand the ramifications of synchronous vs. async modalities. I'm curious about the limitations of distance learning, and how to exploit its unique capabilities.

I'd like the opportunity to learn how to use SmartBoard... I wish Stony Brook could make one accessible.

What am I learning now? And What do I want to learn next?
Recently, I have been learning a lot about how to search the web to enhance my lessons and facilitate my student's learning. But most importantly; I am learning to be confortable enough to share a lot of the tech resources with my colleagues. I am also very enthusiastic about what I am learning about technology such as programs to make learning fun and websites that are resources. I do not feel out of the loop now, when people are talking in technological terms. I am learning how to motivate my students and motivate myself in learning throw tools that are going to be used in the future.

I would like to learn more about Smart Board 10 and how to make my own website to use as a resource for my students.

After taking a survey on how a person learns, I thought that I should find strategies that would most benefit my learning style. Today, I'm learning that the new technology (computers, cell phones, audio and visual devices) is with us and is all compulsary. If a person is without one of these things, it puts them at a disadvantage. Therefore I'm learning how to use podcasting to motivate and tutor my students in the subject I teach.
Because I may be considered as one from the old school and I strongly believe that if we don't insist on imperical skills and data we will dilute the arts and the useable knowledge bass that is necessary for further development.
I have learnt that without modern technology our sociaty would become stagnant. Therefore I want to learn as much as there is to use the appropriate technology to facilitate effective learning in the classroom.
